2 More Weeks.

Two weeks from my wonderful Easter Sunday, I get to go home.
HOME= T-town+ Family+ Friends+ Wedding Plans+ Beach+ Less Stress.
I can't wait.
The following week consists of: 1 Business Article Paper, 1 MCOM Final Paper, 1 MCOM Final (on Saturday night from 8-10 pm. yes, painful, i know), 1 Taping Lab Written Final, 1 Taping Lab Practical Final, 1 Athletic Training Take-Home Final, 1 D and C Take-Home Final, 1 Stats Final.

I'm probably missing something. I don't know. All I can say is, I'm not looking forward to it.

However, I AM looking forward to Kahili's youngest brother, Wai, coming to visit this weekend. He is the only Soon I haven't met yet. Very Exciting.

Ok, back to my studies for now.

The Taualii's and Soon's Meet!

My dad is in Hawaii this week to watch my sister AJ play softball at UH and to visit my uncle and his family. So, after my dad and Kahili's dad went golfing all dad on Monday, he, my sister, my 2 uncles, and my cousins went to Kahili's house for dinner. Both families reported that the dinner went very well and everyone had a good time... looks like were good to go! :)

My Life Be Like....

What has been going on in my life? I havent blogged in a while....

Since the last time I blogged, our lifting time for volleyball has been switched to 7am Mondays and Wednesdays. This is NOT good. I am NOT a morning person. Today is Wednesday which means I had lifting this morning. Katlyn, my roommate, says to me, "Brooke, what time is your lifting again?" I sleepily respond, "7". She then says, "Brooke, its 645." crap. Our lifting coach, Tony, is not very lenient with the whole "being late" thing. (even though he slept through his alarm last week and MISSED lifting) So I rolled out of bed and ran to the fieldhouse... I got in the weight room with 2 minutes to spare. Go me.

I found a wedding dress! Yay for me! It took 1 hour. Faith (my cousin) and I went to Salt Lake, saw it, tried it on, and bought it! I cannot give any details about it because Kahili decided he likes to check up on me every once and awhile and comes on here to read my blog...

We are halfway through the semester. THANK GOODNESS! Classes and work and volleyball and life. Its all killing me. and my body. I cannot wait to have a break. Summer is calling my name...

We play our first Spring matches on Friday. I am very excited for this. We play in the Smith Fieldhouse Friday at 230 against UVU and then 430 against University of Utah. Go Cougars!

Thats all for today I think. I'm tired... as usual.

Thank goodness.

Today was FINALLY a good day. I'm so thankful that I was able to practice well. I don't even know how I did it... I have bronchitis and a sore back. BUT I practiced decently for the 1st time this week. YAY!

Life

Life is so hard sometimes. I dont know why. Sometimes I feel like sitting in my room on my bed for hours thinking about nothing just because I can. But I can't. There's always something.
  •  I wish I didn't have work tomorrow
  • I hope I practice much better than I did today. For MY sake AND MY TEAMMATES sake...
  • I wish I didn't have a Stats test to take tomorrow
  • I wish I could have more free time
  • I wish I weren't stressed every day of my life
Ugh. Ok, enough complaining for today. Casey (teammate) and I just talked on the phone and decided we are going to have a good day tomorrow. And we are gonna have the BEST practice of our lives. And I am going to earn the title of Ali'i (royalty) back from Carl (my coach). the end.

A Modest Proposal

I, Brooke Taualii, am engaged! Yes, I know it's crazy because nobody ever thought I would ever get married (believe me, I don't blame you, I didn't think I ever would either)! Anyways, my teammate (Chelsea "Selly") told me I needed to blog about this... LOL. So, here it goes:

Friday, February 13th
Friday the 13th was the day Kahili and I drove down to Vegas from Provo to meet up with my family. AJ was playing softball there and we had been planning to go since Winter break.
[About a week before we had talked and decided that Kahili would talk to my parents on Friday night when we got to Vegas]
We arrived Friday night, pretty late, but just in time for AJ's last game! During the game, I can quote the conversation that my mother and Kahili had:
Mom: "So, you gonna go play poker or something at the casino with Kevin tonight?"
Kahili: "Nope, Brooke won't let me."
Mom: "WHAT?!! I don't see a ring on her finger!!! You can do whatever you want!"
Kahili: [looks at me and chuckles]
When the game finished, I announced that Daylene (my little sister) and I wanted to listen to Taylor Swift on the way back to the hotel so Kahili would have to go with my parents because there was no room in our car for him. [Clever huh?! my idea of course :)] So, Kahili nervously went with my parents and Daylene and I had a nice ride back to the hotel. I guess they said yes! haha.

Saturday, February 14, 2009 VALENTINE"S DAY
We woke up on Saturday and decided to go bowling with my 2 sisters and one of my sister's teammates. Too bad the bowling place was packed. Instead, we went to the arcade. After playing for awhile, my mom met up with us and we went shopping. Then, we went to AJ's game where she hit a home run. Halfway through the game, Kahili told me we needed to leave because he had "reservations" at a nice restaurant for Valentine's Day. We went back to the hotel and showered and then left. I DO NOT LIKE SURPRISES! The entire time we were in the car, I was asking where we were going and Kahili LIED... multiple times. I was getting very frustrated and anxious.... WHERE ARE WE GOING?!?! goodness.

Finally, we pulled up the Venetian Hotel on the strip where I knew my cousin was staying with her boyfriend in a suite because they were going to see The Phantom of the Opera. We went inside and there was a key waiting for us at the front desk. We went up to the suite on the 21st floor and the view was beautiful [Kahili asked me to mention this detail whenever I tell the story]! There was supposed to be dinner waiting there for us but the person who was supposed to order it forgot so we tried to order room service but the line was busy. It's ok, I wasn't hungry anyways. We hung out for a little while checking out the room and watching a little TV. At that point, Kahili told me he had a Valentine's Day gift for me. [He had been carrying his backpack around the entire time.] He went over to his backpack and shuffled around for a bit and brought back an envelope full of pictures. He told me he was going to get a photo album but didn't have time. When I finished looking through the pictures, I looked up and he was getting down on 1 knee. He pulled a box out of his pocket and opened it as he told me he loves me and wants to spend eternity with me. I said yes. :)

Assignment: Buy a stranger a coke.

So Mr. Clarke says, "For our random weekend assignment I want you guys to buy a stranger a coke. Well, since we're at BYU, not necessarily a coke because then you would get arrested. [haha!] just find someone random and ask to buy a drink for them or maybe even lunch. you can use this as an excuse to take someone out on a date. however, it must be someone that you've never met before!"

I was laughing when he said this because i thought it was just so funny and random. I walked into the smith fieldhouse today found a guy watching volleyball practice and offered to buy him something from the vending machines. He was very hesitant and said no at first but as I insisted, he finally gave in and said he would love a Sprite. It was interesting.

Anyways, thats my story for today, not very interesting but I mean, what do you expect?!

The very BEST Winter Break... EVER!

Winter Break 2008-2009 was one of the best breaks I have had so far in my short life...
It started out with being attacked and tackled OVER the couch by Amanda (my older sister) who said she was just excited to see me. It ended with a fun-filled road trip back to the snow-filled Provo with 2 of my favorite people... Kahili and Tyler! :) Here are some of the events that made this break wonderful...

Week 1: California
~ I got to spend lots of time with family! I was able to go watch Daylene sing Christmas songs at school on my first day back. On Sunday, we went to church as a family for the first time in forever! Sunday night, we went on the TPD Santa Sleigh to hand out candy canes to anxious children and neighbors... that was eventful! Tuesday, we attended my Auntie June's graduation from the Police Academy and we were so proud of her! Thursday was Christmas Eve and we were able to spend time and catch up with my dad's side of the family... the Taualii's! Christmas Day was great because it was spent with the Marzorini's (mom's fam) and Santa had come the night before. Apples to Apples was an eventful game that we were all able to enjoy together.

Day After Christmas....
~You might think I'm crazy but I swear I'm not! My boyfriend, Kahili, got me a ticket to Hawaii to come visit him for a week as one of my Christmas presents. Yes, a trip to HAWAII! I was beyond excited. However, it was a Standby ticket and when he called me on Christmas, he told me that I needed to go to the airport early Friday morning and just try to get on ANY flight to the islands and then he would get me to O'ahu from wherever I landed. After seeing that the flights were ALL overbooked by at least 30 passengers, he and his dad  doubted that I would ever make it to the islands. I told him to be optimistic. I arrived at crazy LAX Friday morning and fought many rude people through the hectic check in and security lines. I arrived at the gate for the first flight to try (going to Lihui) and GOT ON!!! yes people, I got on the first flight... despite the odds!
!! haha. what can I say, I'm a lucky girl!

Week 2: Hawaii
~ I was able to spend an absolutely amazing week getting to know the Soon family (consisting of the Brede's, Haverley's, Fermentez's, and Kahalepuna's). Kahili has 3 older sisters who are all married. Kahoku and Kea have 5 kids (Kealaula, Pili, Kala, Lana, and K'a'ea). Kaiwa and Kuli have 4 kids (Kia, Kona, Kaena, and Poki). Noe and Poliku have 1, Manoa. Kahili also has 1 older brother Kaupena and a younger brother, Wai (whom I did not get to meet because doesn't get back from his mission until February). And of course, I was able to meet Kahili's parents, Francis and Karen and his Grandma. Yes, there are lots of names but I think I got them all down... haha. This family is amazing and I'm so glad I was able to meet them and spend time with all of them.
~ Our days in Hawaii consisted of: playing volleyball with Kahili's cousins (Casey, Kainoa, Koa, and J.P.), me learning how to surf (actually just getting shown up by Kealaula- Kahili's 10 year old newphew... sad day.), poping CRAZY fireworks on New Year's Eve, and visiting with MY family who lives nearby...
~Seeing and spending time with Uncle Keni (my dad's brother) and his family was awesome! I got to play with Lemao and Malia and build castles and dance floors and fly them around the room. whoohoo! they loved Kako (Uncle) Kahili :)
~Best of all, I got to spend time with Kahili everyday... STRESS and SCHOOL-FREE! :D

After all the fun, I'm back in Provo... freezing my butt off in the snow... back in school... coaching club volleyball... playing volleyball... and going to church! My life is very eventful and there are not enough hours in the day here....

The Creator vs The Editor

Do you ever sit in class and wonder, "Wow, what is this guy talking about?" All of a sudden, you tune in to what the professor is talking about and he is actually right! That happened to me just now. haha. MCOM 320 is going to be an interesting class....
I am the creator of this blog. I am also the editor. Who will be reading this stuff???
